Hi, I’m Jess. It’s nice to meet you.
Food is a passion of mine. My parents have always said that the way to my heart is through my stomach. I would have to say there is an element of truth to that statement, and I am unashamed of that.
I moved to New York City for college in 2014. The foodie in me really came alive. New York City has so many restaurants, it can be really overwhelming. You could go out to eat every night for the rest of your life and still not hit them all. However, I found this to be a challenge: find the best food in New York and stay on budget.
My first year of college, my father was impressed at how I had managed to spend less money in New York than my sister had spent on her college food plan in Alabama. It was then that I decided I should start sharing the love. My food spreadsheet was born and shared with my friends, and people have been recommending I start a food blog ever since.
This is my guide to affordable food that is worth your time (and calories). No, this is not a blog on how to eat ramen for four years. This is for those unbelievers with refined taste buds who end up eating dollar pizza on the daily. Okay calm down, dollar pizza is fantastic (pour some of that Frank’s and garlic salt right on there). But let’s not be intimidated to explore our other options.
From Indian food to bottomless brunch, this city has it all! Let’s grab a bite on my budget!
Put a fork in it.
